The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu yesterday lost his first son, Jide. Jide, a law graduate of the University of Liverpool in England, reportedly died yesterday.
However, the circumstances surrounding his death was unknown as at press time. Confirming Jide Tinubu’s death, Lagos APC chairman, Otunba Henry Ajomale urged all members of the party to commiserate with the party’s national leader over the death of his son.
Meanwhile Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara and Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi yesterday described Jide’s death as shocking. Dogara in a condolence message he personally signed and made available to New Telegraph, described the late Jide as a lawyer of high repute.
“I commiserate with our national leader, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the demise of his son Jide. I was shocked to receive the sad news of the sudden death of Jide Tinubu.
“The late Jide was a lawyer of high repute who cut his teeth in the maritime sector and was hardworking and enterprising.
“It is saddening that a father buries his son. I can only imagine your pain and grief at this time. I pray God almighty to grant you and your family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss,” he stated.
Governor Ajimobi condoled with the APC national leader over what he called the depressing news of the death of his beloved scion, Jide.
The governor in a statement issued by his Special Adviser, Communication and Strategy, Mr. Yomi Layinka, expressed regrets that the cold hands of death had snatched another promising and ebullient young man. Ajimobi described the sudden death of the APC national leader’s son, as not only shocking but also unfortunate and disheartening. “My dear Asiwaju, please accept my heartfelt condolences.
On behalf of myself, family and the good people of Oyo State, I pray that God will give you the strength and courage to bear this monumental loss.”
