Two members of a robbery gang, Nwulu and Danjuma on Monday revealed that the gun they used in carrying out operations had no bullet in it.
Information obtained by DailyPost states that the duo belongs to a robbery syndicate terrorising residents of Satellite Town in Amuwo Oddofin Local Government Area of Lagos State.
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, while parading the suspects told newsmen that the command received an intelligent report on activities of the gang, which specialised in phone snatching, and immediately swung into action.
According to the commissioner, the command thereafter deployed operatives at the Satellite Division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Audu Ibrahim.
He said the operatives apprehended the suspects when it received a report that the gang had robbed a resident of his laptop at gunpoint.
The suspects, disclosed to newsmen when they were paraded by the commissioner at the State Command, Ikeja, that they used the locally-made pistol to scare their victims.
“Our gun has no bullet in it. But we were only using it to intimidate our victims. On the day we were arrested, we snatched a bag containing a laptop from a man and before we could escape from the scene, the police showed up,” they said.
